Nielsen will provide demographic data for Google TV Ads

Nielsen and Google have announced a long-term strategic partnership for which Nielsen will provide demographic data for the Google TV Ads advertising platform. By combining Nielsen data and data that EchoStar subscribers are watching, Google is going to provide advertisers and agencies with comprehensive information to help them create the “right” advertising and get the most out of their advertising investments.

Google TV Ads is an online platform for buying, selling, observing and submitting TV ads. The platform, which has been operating since May of this year, brings together 125 TV channels with an audience of 13.1 million viewers. The main advantage of the Google TV Ads platform is the ability to display information from the EchoStar set-top boxes in real time, so that advertisers will be able to evaluate the advertising reach and pay for actual views. Data from Nielsen will show the demographic structure of viewers to advertisers.

Thus, advertisers receive a single information center (Google AdWords), showing such comprehensive information.
