Hitachi and Sharp have released the thinnest displays

Without saying a word, two Japanese electronic giants immediately announced the release of the world's thinnest LCD displays. Hitachi has introduced the most slim LCD TV, and Sharp, in turn, was surprised by the release of a record-thin screen for mobile devices.

A series of ultra-slim LCD TVs Hitachi Wooo includes three models that differ from each other in diagonal and resolution matrix. And all of them are united by a record-low indicator of the volume of the hull - only 35 mm. Despite this slimness, every Wooo TV is equipped with HDMI and D-Sub connectors. Models V-42, V-37 and V-32 will appear in Japan in a few months at a price of about 3,700, 2,900 and 2,000 US dollars.

Engineers from Sharp, meanwhile, took up mobile technology and showed the world's thinnest LCD display for portable devices.

The thickness of this display with a diagonal of 2.2 inches and QVGA resolution is 0.67 mm, so Sharp just one hundredth of a millimeter broke the previous record owned by AU Optitronics and its 1.9-inch display.

It’s a pity that the representatives of Sharp are not in a hurry to share information about the first applications of the thin display.
