ATI (AMD) has released an AIGLX-compatible driver for its video cards

ATI cardholders can now enjoy the effects of Compiz Fusion - ATI has finally released the fglrx 8.42 Linux driver, which not only fixes bugs for working with old cards, but is also compatible with AIGLX! This means that Compiz / Beryl / Compiz Fusion can be launched without XGL!

In general, in addition to supporting AIGLX and bugfix, there is a slight increase in performance, an improvement in video playback. There are some problems with x86_64 support and a serious incompatibility with Linux 2.6.23 kernel.
