On Sunday, the World Solar Challenge international tournament started in Australia, which is nothing more than a race of cars running on solar energy. This event is held at the moment once every two years and gathers many teams from several dozen countries of the world. So, this year 41 cars take part in the tournament. The task of the participants is to overcome the 3000 km long route. For obvious reasons, the race will take place only in the daytime. The favorite of the competition is the Dutch team Nuon from the Delft University of Technology, whose Nuob III car crossed the finish line two years ago after 29 hours and 11 minutes of the race, having developed an average speed of 64.3 miles per hour.
