A3 color electronic paper from Bridgestone

At FPD International 2007 in Yokohama, Bridgestone showed a prototype of A3 color electronic paper with a thickness of just 0.29 mm.

The new display module from Bridgestone is capable of displaying 4096 colors. This became possible due to the use of RGBW light filters and the Quick-Response Liquid Powder Display technology QR-LPD, which Bridgestone has been developing for the last few years, when creating this device.

Nothing is known about the practical application of the new colored e-paper. Apparently, at the moment Bridgestone is just going to promote it "to the masses."
