New Atom Communicator and New Atom for Communicators

I have two news for you: one is good, the other is good too. First, the first communicator from the new wave of devices on the Intel Atom, which fixes many of the shortcomings of the previous wave, went on sale. Second, the release of the next “mobile” Atom processor for handheld devices that are more demanding of computational power - Z2760 has been announced.

Bug work

In a post dedicated to MegaFon Mint, we wrote that the first always had to be difficult: new technologies are running around, organizational problems are superimposed on technical ones, and the market is not used to meeting pioneers with open arms. However, someone still has to go ahead. The first batch of communicators on the Intel Medfield processor was small but geographically diverse: Orange San Diego (Europe), Lenovo K800 (China), Lava Xolo X900 (India) and, finally, MegaFon SP-A20i Mint for the Russian market - it got the most. And now, finally, the time has come for the successors.
Motorola RAZR i is not only a well-known name, but also a new communicator on the Intel Atom. The main difference from the previous ones is the original Android 4.0 and an open bootloader for experiment lovers. Among others, the 4.3 ”Super AMOLED display with a protective layer of Gorilla Glass, a Kevlar back cover, is among the others. The brief characteristics of the device are listed below.

Mobile Atom has become even more atomic

In the line of Atom processors for mobile devices, a flagship appeared - the Z2760 processor. The novelty is designed for tablets and handhelds based on Windows 8, but it will certainly be used in other handheld devices that require a large computing power of the CPU. The specifications show the extraordinary energy efficiency of the Z2760 (more than 10 hours of HD video playback, standby time up to 3 weeks) - and this, note, with two cores and a frequency of almost two gigahertz.

We give the main parameters of the processor:

So, as we see, both news, in principle, about the same thing. Intel's penetration of mobile devices is gaining momentum, which means that soon we will see new processors, and an increasing number of communicators based on them.
