"Open Russia" Khodorkovsky will be closed due to lack of funds

The site of the non-profit organization "Open Russia" will close on July 10. The reason for this was the problems with financing that began in March of the current year after the arrest of all the accounts of the organization.

Open Russia was founded in January 2005 by ex-head of Yukos, Mikhail Khodorkovsky. The organization conducts projects related to the support and development of democratic civil initiatives, including those coming from the regions.

The press-center of Mikhail Khodorkovsky informs that the employees of Open Russia can no longer support the work of the site on their own: “Unfortunately, despite the sincere desire of the employees of Open Russia and the chairman of the board of the organization Mikhail Khodorkovsky to continue the activities of the organization, including information to support litigations, we have to admit the complete impossibility of continuing to maintain and maintain the site from personal funds. ”

At the same time, "Open Russia", despite the cessation of project and financial and economic activities, speaks of the intention to continue working, namely, to conduct legal proceedings on five lawsuits and complaints about the decisions and actions of law enforcement and judicial authorities.
