I want to introduce you and hear criticism about the first version of the interactive map of the city of Pushkino (there is one in the Moscow region) using the Google Maps API and AJAX . Here is the map itself: pushkino.org (in a new window).
Screenshot: By expanding the functionality of the Google map, the following functionality was added:
The ability to add (edit) your objects and events to the city map by registered users of the site;
Adding organizations to buildings, communication with the directory of firms;
Adding comments to any objects;
Assigning tags to objects, auto-completion works when tags are entered;
Adding photos to objects;
Map search and tag cloud;
Assigning any icon to the object;
Direct links to specific map objects and code to insert into a blog, an example ;
Filters by object type;
Reviews of new objects / photos / comments;
Uploading only objects in sight;
The entire basic functionality of the map is implemented using PHP & AJAX & jQuery;
This is my first experience.Waiting for feedback :) Was it worth taking the map to the portal main page? Previously, the site looked like this .
