The smallest radio in the world

California scientists Peter Burke and Chris Raterglen have developed a nano-radio prototype. A device made of carbon nanotubes and one hundred times thinner than the diameter of a human hair can receive radio waves of the meter range and convert them into sound.

The prototype device is quite working. So, during the laboratory demonstration, the inventors “screwed” the nano-radio to a conventional radio system and were able to successfully listen to music from an iPod that is several feet away.
