Not for gloating for the sake of, and not holivar for ... but I was digging here in old records from favorites and stumbled upon the old (January 28, 2010) habratopic "
Farewell, Karma, or Who Needs an iPad? ".
You know, it is very interesting to read the then reviews and forecasts. Especially knowing how the situation looks from the present. The topic is very short, I’ll give it almost entirely:

The enthusiastic response in these of your Internet about Apple's freshly presented tablet to me is a little incomprehensible.
')
At first glance, the following things confuse:
First, the form factor. The laptop can be put on your lap or put on any surface and work with it anywhere. With a tablet is not a ride - how to keep it, I wonder how the artist palette - on the forearm, holding his elbow?
Just holding this ten-inch fool in your palms is unrealistic - even though it looks like a giant iPod, it’s still a laptop, not a PDA. And the thumb is no longer multitouch.
Secondly - the screen. The resolution of 1024x768 is somehow not serious.
Thirdly - where is WiMax? For the cities that are not happy with the presence of Yota, this may be irrelevant for now, but I pay for it my 30 bucks a month.
There is no USB port either, so you will not use an external modem. Oh, how Apple scolded Apple in its time for one USB port on a MacBook Air - it didn't get through, you see.
Battery - 10 hours. Good, but not new.
What is left over? Price, in the States from $ 499. We will, of course, be more expensive - but in our country there is a chance for 30 thousand rubles from the tablet from the apple-makers - in the end, they buy iPhones from us for comparable money. And then the same iPhone, only with a bigger screen. For our man, this is not an argument.

Interestingly, the post plus 661 people, minus 223 and in total he scored 438 points. Well, there were 510 comments. And in them is the salt. Ponostalgate?
Ps: Necessary clarifications: I am not a fan or hater of any of the mobile platforms. It was just interesting for me to look back at myself yesterday and remember my feelings and predictions about the future of tablets.
