New Design SurfPatrol

Life does not stand still, everything changes and develops. This also applies to our projects, in particular, to the online service for checking browser security and SurfPatrol plug-ins. Not so long ago, we announced on Habré a release of an extension for Google Chrome , on the approach of an extension for Opera, Firefox and Safari. But that is not all.

A couple of months ago, during the work on the new design of the site www.surfpatrol.ru, we turned to the Habrasoobshchestvo with a request to evaluate our developments and make recommendations for improving the interface. The topic aroused some interest; we managed to collect a large number of feedback and suggestions, many of which were reflected in the new design.

We tried to make the appearance of the service more convenient and visual (no design for the sake of design!) And today we present you an updated SurfPatrol.

Previously, when visiting the site www.surfpatrol.ru , the browser and plug-ins installed on the user's computer were immediately scanned. When problems were discovered, the service notified the user of this, which, as many representatives of Habranarod pointed out to us, could frighten him. To avoid associations with various unscrupulous and fraudulent sites, we got rid of scanning on the main page. Now when entering the site, the user sees the “Check browser” button: scanning is performed by clicking on it.



In addition, if you use the Google Chrome browser, the service will offer to install the appropriate extension .



The page for issuing scan results has been significantly reworked, it has become nicer, looks good on modern large monitors and does not require horizontal scrolling on smaller monitors.



The Help is significantly reworked: now the articles of the “help” itself, step-by-step instructions on how to enable and remove plug-ins are combined in one section, contact information is provided with the contact form.



To find the answer to your question, you do not need to make unnecessary movements.
A forum has been added, where you can log in not only using your account on www.surfpatrol.ru , but also through most of the popular social networks.

Among other things, the entire site is localized into English, some internal mechanisms have been reworked, the set of defined programs has been expanded.
