Comparative test of cameras iPhone 5 and Nokia 808 PureView

On the eve, I managed to hold the iPhone 5 in my hands. The impressions are mixed so far. Almost all third-party applications open on a 4-inch display, as on the 3.5 iPhone 4s display. The virtual keyboard also remained the same, and along its edges unused fields appeared. But in place of these fields, the most commonly used punctuation marks on the main layout could appear in the keyboard. Maybe in the AppStore, over time, a special keyboard will appear specifically for the iPhone 5? About maps and the inability to install Google Maps, a lot has already been written, so I will not repeat.

Actually, here I don’t really want to write about the iPhone 5 itself, how much to share the materials of the comparative photo and video test cameras of the iPhone 5 and Nokia 808 PureView. I will not impose my thoughts and conclusions. I will only note that I was discouraged by the fact that despite the presence of three microphones in the IPhone 5, for some reason the sound is recorded in one channel during video recording. This, in my opinion, only confirms the incomplete adaptation of iOS6 for iPhone 5.

Therefore, I made two versions of each video test: with the sound track from the iPhone 5 and with the sound track from the Nokia 808 PureView, which with its two most widely spaced microphones records sound in the 140 db range and in stereo 5.1.

But in this video I left both audio tracks:

When reviewing the above materials, please note that 41 Mp 808 PureView were not involved in the shooting, except the photos were taken in PureView (8 Mp), and in one video location I allowed myself a prank in the form of a zoom on the Nokia 808 PureView. So the comparison is quite correct. I will not intentionally draw conclusions and raise a hand to the winner. See for yourself. In my opinion, there is no 100 percent winner here. Both cameras are undoubtedly good and quite suitable for shooting quite professional video content. But each has its pluses and minuses. Well, or, speaking correctly, each has its own individual characteristics.
