Schoolchildren with school
bags filled the streets, students in public transport opened a new reading season, and our project
Tutoronline.ru again receives more than 8,000 potential students per day. According to the experience of last year, we know that this is only the beginning, the craving for knowledge will grow up to the summer exams. But our servers and teachers are ready for such a load, so we decided to make online tutoring more affordable and reduced the
price of classes by 60% by the end of September.
This is not all news. We have already told Habra readers about how Tutoronline works from the inside. This time we will share information about who, from where and for what uses our web-based platform for remote tutoring.
1. Who (our students)')
2. Where (service geography)
By the way, when developing the Tutoronline.ru project, we were confident that the overwhelming majority of our students would be from Moscow, but now regions are leading in terms of the number of users. The first student was a boy from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, he signed up for classes the next day after the launch of the site (March 1, 2011).
3. For what (learning objectives)
4. Parents want video chat, Linux OS and iPad support (satisfaction with the service)We regularly monitor the performance of our students, collect reviews, ask for information about entering universities and other educational institutions. According to the results of the latest survey, the site Tutoronline.ru received 96% positive and 4% negative feedback.

Of course, we are pleased to read the success stories of our students, to see the specific results of the work of teachers. But the most useful part of this analysis is the study of proposals for improving the service. So, what were the visitors of our site dissatisfied with? First, they offer to add a video chat for communication between a tutor and a student. Secondly, they want to use the iPad and the Linux operating system. Of course, we will work on empowering. In this academic year, we have already added support for the Opera browser and for Apple Macintosh computers.
We will be happy to receive feedback and be sure to take note of your project proposals.
