One of the battles in the endless patent war was lost to Apple. At the same time, two competitors of the Cupertinov company, Motorola and Samsung, proved to be the winners. The essence of the litigation is the touch technology in mobile devices, the nuances of the OS reaction to the touchscreen user touch.
Apple, in its lawsuit, complained of infringement of its patents by Motorola and Samsung. According to Apple’s lawyers, these two companies illegally used Apple’s proprietary technology. Probably, Apple representatives were confident in their victory, because in the US, Apple recently won a major victory over Samsung.

But the German court (the court of the city of Mannheim) decided differently. The judge decided to dismiss the claimant’s claim, and this decision is very positive for the respondents. The fact is that if Apple won, then both companies would be in a difficult position in Europe, and in particular in Germany. After all, the lawsuit affected almost all Samsung and Motorola products, where there is a touchscreen display.
Well, now these manufacturers can feel calmer. Nevertheless, this victory is only a small fraction of what has yet to be sustained by all participants in the patent battles with Apple. Victory in battle does not mean victory in war, as is known. Well, the war here is infinite. Probably, all this will drag on until some of the provisions of the patent laws of some countries are changed. But so far no one is going to change anything. So, we will soon hear a lot of interesting things from the “battlefield”.
