alexf.name/2007/10/03/poleznyj-soft-dlya-zashhity-kompyuteraHere is a list of software that I use at home and which protects against 99.99% of viruses and Trojans:
1. Firewall. For a long time I used ZoneAlarm, but it has several drawbacks: firstly, it is not free, and the hacked versions are not updated. Secondly, it uses some kind of buggy database to store the settings, which periodically deteriorates and along with it all the saved settings deteriorate (for this, I nailed it). Thirdly, a performance comparison report recently caught my eye, so a computer with a ZoneAlarm installed slows down the most. Therefore, it was found and put free analogue - Comodo. While the first impressions are good.
2. Antivirus - I use Avira AntiVir. Advantages - free and when working does not load the computer. Among the shortcomings, a slightly buggy update is worth noting - sometimes the program cannot connect to its own server.
3. Windows Defender. This is a program for cleaning Uncle Billy from Trojans. I use it soon to confirm that other programs are cleaning as expected.
4. Spybot - the main program for cleaning and protecting your computer from Trojans. Free, works fine, be sure to use the "immunization".
5. SpywareBlaster is also a free program, which basically “immunizes” a computer, adding pre-prepared lists of sites to the category of restricted. It's funny that some sponsors are added there who used to indulge in spyware, for example CoolWebSearch.
6. CCleaner - a program for cleaning from "garbage", forgotten logs, lost temporary files, etc.
7. AutoRuns - a program for manually viewing and editing everything that automatically starts when the computer starts. If some unknown trojan slips through the protection, then surely it will be detected by this program, it needs to be launched somehow.
In order for all this to work, you naturally need to download all the available updates for all programs.
