The
EURid international consortium, which was established by the administrators of the national domains of Belgium, Italy and Sweden and which is in charge of managing the pan-European domain, announced that the EU domain became the third most popular in Europe among top-level domains, the
Ru-Center press service reports.
“When we opened the EU domain for registrations in April of this year, we were confident of its future popularity, but the reality exceeded all expectations. We are pleased to note the growing interest among residents of European countries to the new domain, ”said Mark Van Vesemeil, managing director of the EURid consortium.
Recall among the countries whose residents register domain names in the EU domain, still leads Germany, which accounts for 631 thousand domains in the EU; in the second place - the United Kingdom (373 thousand) and the third place is occupied by the Netherlands.
