Microsoft, like some other corporations, is constantly under the gun, if I may say so, of antitrust committees of different countries. In the European Union, an investigation was recently conducted against Microsoft, and upon completion, the company was forced to give browsers a choice of Microsoft users. A special version of Windows was created in which the user could choose a suitable browser for himself. Due to the fact that before there was no such choice, Microsoft was fined 1.68 billion euros (although this happened in 2009).
But after a while, users of the new OS version from Microsoft began to complain that the browser selection screen was gone, and the same Microsoft Explorer is offered as the default browser. In the summer of this year, the European Union began preparations for a second investigation, and, most likely, such an investigation will be conducted.

Representatives of the Redmond corporation declare that the lack of a browser selection screen is a software error that crept into the latest updates, namely, Windows 7 Service Pack 1. According to the company, about 28 million computers of European users, with this update, lost their browser selection screen.
Now developers are preparing a new update, which will return the choice of browsers in place. Nevertheless, according to
bloomberg , the European Commission will still conduct a new antitrust investigation. So far, neither representatives of the European Commission, nor representatives of Microsoft have given official comments on this issue.
