This was announced in his Twitter-e Minister of Communications Nikolai Nikiforov.
This is due to the appearance on YouTube of the anti-Islamic film “The Innocence of Muslims”, which on September 17 was declared “extremist” by the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation. The beginning of November was not chosen by chance - in these numbers the law on the “Registry of Prohibited Sites”, recently adopted by the State Duma of the Russian Federation, will come into force.
Google, in turn, refused to completely remove the film from YouTube’s video hosting service, but agreed to block the film for viewing in individual countries at the request of the authorities. The film is currently unavailable for viewing in Libya, India, Egypt and Malaysia. At the same time, access to YouTube is completely closed in Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
