Apple vs Samsung

Comrades habrayuzery, and you saw all the hype, where the word Samsung is adjacent to the word Apple, as a conscious (and where to as effective!) Marketing policy first? In which the main role is assigned to all of us, “technically savvy” screamers, whom we don’t feed with bread - let them talk?

I think most would agree that Apple’s marketing is effective. The result of his work was a wonderfully promoted trademark, the further PR of which is happening as if “by itself”. Here you and Medvedev, under the keen gaze of a Russian inhabitant, take an iPhone from Jobs’s hands (the message is “a phone worthy of the president”, and coming from the president himself - think up a more powerful advertising trick!). Here and the standard practice in the media to mention Apple products alone, which is not honored by any other company! Phrases that were regularly heard on my radio at work - “you can download this application for your iPhone or any smartphone based on android bla-bla”. A unique situation when not even a trade mark is mentioned on the radio - a separate phone model, and (in my opinion) without financial investments from Apple. It’s just so happened in Russia that this iPhone stands alone, and if there is an application for it, then they will say it directly on the radio, while the android devices have long merged into a huge gray mass.

From this point of view, Samsung’s marketing policy looks like this: “The name of our company, and preferably the names of individual device models should be heard and associated in any way with the popular Apple brand, its uniqueness and quality.” Any means are used - the more scandalous and louder the better. Provocative advertising, dubious slogans, incorrect comparisons - all this causes mass boiling in forums and incessant holivars that produce the “desired” effect at the subconscious level on casual viewers (and even more so - participants)
1. Apple with its iPhone is incredibly cool
2. Only Samsung does something comparable in features and quality.

Iron pieces with good performance characteristics in our time will not surprise anyone. Android too. But as we can see, SGS-III is already in the mass consciousness a perfect outfit among other phones (as well as an iPhone), and all this thanks to our common efforts. And to this text of mine, too, of course. So is it time to stop dancing to their tune?

ps in Moscow met billboards - in big letters "Samsung", just below the photo of the next ultrabook with the model name, and below it the slogan: "Lighter then air." The approach speaks for itself, in my opinion.
