Cybersquatting in chinese

Many people know that cybersquatting is a fairly profitable business to buy domains for the purpose of reselling them or making a profit due to the identity or consonance of the domain name to a well-known brand.

As you understood, a certain Chinese citizen under the name of Derek Lau says that he works in a company that registers Asian domains and was approached by some company “YOO Investment Ltd” with the goal of registering a series of domains “Ivideon” in Asia.
Instead of taking and doing this, they found that Ivideon was in tune with the domain we already registered and therefore kindly asked if we allowed YOO Investment Ltd to register Ivideon Asian domains or not.

I need to reconsider “Doctor House” again in order to stop trusting strangers like this. Because my first impulse was: “What are they all the same great! Others would register and would not even look for anyone ... And they! They were not even too lazy to write a letter to warn! ”But, thank God, the first impulse passed and I thought. And why did they write to us and simply did not register domains? 99% that there is no “YOO Investment Ltd.” and all this was done in order to force Ivideon to register additional domains in Asia through them. History for me began to take the form of a detective. It became interesting to me, but what will happen next and I answered them that Ivideon is in no way associated with any “YOO Investment Ltd.” and therefore does not authorize this registration.



The answer immediately came to this:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thanks for your confirmation. As soon as I received the application IOO Investment Ltd, Ivideon This is why we’ve informed you. The following domain names are applied by YOO Investment Ltd:

ivideon.co.in
ivideon.cn
ivideon.org.cn
ivideon.com.tw
ivideon.com.hk
ivideon.jp
ivideon.sg
ivideon.my

YOO Investment Ltd also knows how to use it. you only have the preferential rights to register them.
At present, we have not passed their application. If I’m here, I’m looking to avoid confusion or speculation. Of course, each company has its own idea. It’s not a problem. as per our duty. Please give me your order.

Like, the registration of domains with the name of your brand in Asia can adversely affect the reputation of your company. There is a list of requested domains, as well as information that Ivideon has preferential rights to register these domains and we can use them. We are here with you discussed domain registration. Confirm whether you want to register them for yourself? Of course, you can refuse, but only if you are sure that this will not cause a negative effect on your existing Ivideon company.

And then another couple of letters came out with a similar theme and a promise that this is already the last warning and domains will be registered soon, but not for us, but for “YOO Investment Ltd”.

In general, according to the manner of answers and the speed of their arrival, I got the impression that all this is done automatically by some system that searches for domains on the Internet and initiates such correspondence with the owner.
