Goodbye, Internet Explorer 8

Google has announced the imminent end of support for Internet Explorer 8. In accordance with the plan announced a year ago, the normal operation of Gmail, Google Docs and other Google services is guaranteed only in modern browsers. These include:

• Google Chrome;
• Firefox (latest and previous version);
• Internet Explorer (latest and previous version);
• Safari (latest and previous version).

Since the official release of Internet Explorer 10 will take place on October 26, then from this day the eighth version of IE will automatically become obsolete. IE8 support will last until November 15, after which all users of this browser will see a recommendation to upgrade their browser when they access Youtube or other Google services.

Despite requests from the public, since that time, Google has not agreed to add Opera to the number of officially supported browsers, although this browser is always among the first to implement support for the latest HTML5 features.

For corporate users who are stuck on older versions of IE, Google recommends installing Google Chrome Frame .

By the way, in Windows XP, the IE8 browser cannot be upgraded, so many users will have to abandon IE altogether if they want to work normally with Google services.
