Obsidian Entertainment development studio with the help of Kickstarter intends to please nostalgic players with a new project in the spirit of the old school computer role-playing games of the Black Isle studio (Not the current one , but the very “old” Black Isle). The masters of the genre: Fergus Urquhart, Chris Avellone, Tim Caine, Josh Sawyer and others lead the emigrants. All these guys worked as Fallout 1/2, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment and other cult role-playing games when they were islanders. After the dissolution of the studio Black Isle, Obsidian became famous for such projects as Neverwinter Nights 2, The Sith Lords, Fallout: New Vegas and others. Many of the projects they did not get because of the formulation of ambitious plans for the development of role-playing, which were then sent to the scrap because of the breakdown of the deadlines set by the publisher. Now, Obsidian wants to make a game of the level of Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment apart from the sharks of the business, who want AAA projects with a grafon, and in collaboration with the players. Meet on Kickstarter - Project Eternity ( Project Eternity ).
What promise Obsidian in the game under this project?
A fusion of exploration of the world and relationships with characters from Baldur's Gate, the combat system and exploration of dungeons straight from Icewind Dale, and the depth of relationships and moral dilemmas from Planescape: Torment
Creating your own unique character who will have to assemble companions with different characters
Deep branched dialogues
The decisions of the player will directly affect both companions and the story with the outside world.
Purpose: $ 1 million. 100 thousand. At the time of publication of the topic, more than 100 thousand dollars have already been collected. And this is an hour. Details options donate on the project page.
PS I sincerely hope that the project Eternity does not mean that it will be developed forever :) Although the developers indicate the release for April 2014.
