Set aside all your business for the evening, warn family and loved ones, tonight at 6:45 pm MSK the legendary Black Mesa will appear in free access.
Black Mesa is a complete remake of the well - known Half-Life on the Source engine. The project started in 2004 when Valve re-released the original Half-Life on the Source engine, but from the new game there was only the engine. All textures and patterns were old. This gave rise to the creation of fashion with completely new models from beginning to end.

Initially, the game was planned to be released in 2009, but the developers considered it not sufficiently finished and decided that they would redo everything.
Despite numerous incidents that have happened to developers over the past time (leakage of the internal alpha version of the mod, numerous hacks and the removal of forums, hacking and deleting the entire site and 2 gigabytes of files from ftp used by the team for internal purposes), the mod not only kept afloat , but also confidently moved forward.

The mod will be free as updates. Black Mesa does not include the Xen world, a sequel will be released next year as an update. The game will end at the moment of jumping into the portal leading to Xen. Network mode Deathmatch will be released next year as a separate game.
In the near future, the game should appear on Steam. Valve has included Black Mesa in the list of games that participate in the Steam Greenlight program . Green Light allows developers to upload information about their project, and users vote for the best project.

Official trailer released in 2008.
