Haier Eye-Control TV - view controlled television

Another interesting presentation from the IFA 2012 exhibition. Haier presented at its booth a TV interfaced with a special module that allows management with a glance.

In the video above, you can observe the calibration process, when the “new” for the system, the user must, within a few seconds, see off the movement of the colored ball (blinking is identical to pressing). After which the tester proceeds to control. To do this, use special drop-down panels that appear when the user looks to the edge of the screen. It is noteworthy that the channel selection panel contains a mosaic of broadcasts of several channels at once, this allows you to avoid hitting commercials or knowingly uninteresting broadcasts and, as a result, reduce the number of necessary eye movements.
Despite the obvious performance of the device, Haier does not announce the date of its sale. Of course, the current implementation is not very comfortable, however, and there would be buyers for it, for example, among the guardians of people with disabilities.
It is reliably known that the control system used in the device was developed by the Swedish company Tobii, which last year announced the replication of such devices for computers (the cost of $ 15,000 for one device was announced).
