Google has put into operation a system that allows third-party sites to work with information from the internal Google system after user authentication. A system similar to Microsoft Passport is called Google Account Authentication .
Thus, it has now become possible to create web applications in which the system will interact with a user who is already authorized in the Google system, and receive his personal data from Google servers. For example, an independent web service can easily import user bookmarks from his account in the Google Bookmarks system. Access is implemented using the Google Account APIs. This is a secure procedure for the user, because the web service does not “see” his login and password.
