CenterTelecom OJSC (ESMO) in 2006 will reduce the number of personnel by 12%. It is reported by
"Prime-Tass" with reference to the online conference of the deputy general director of the company, Dmitry Karmanov.
According to him, the management of the company has developed a number of measures to increase the average monthly wage for employees of CenterTelecom OJSC. In 2006, the budget of CenterTelecom was approved, in which, while reducing revenues, an increase in labor costs of 6.4% was provided. The Board of Directors also approved a headcount optimization program, which provides for a phased reduction of staff in 2006 by 12%, which will increase the average monthly salary for the company by 14.8%. In addition, in the 4th quarter of 2006, the minimum tariff rate will be increased by 14–25%, depending on the region.
Karmanov also added that the program for optimizing the number of CenterTelecom OJSC provides for a reduction in the number of 25% for the period from 2006 to 2008. This program can be adjusted. Thus, by the end of 2008, the planned number of the company's staff will be almost 49 thousand people (today, more than 68 thousand people work in CenterTelecom OJSC).
