IFTTT adds support for Google Drive.

The popular automation service IFTTT (If This Then That) allows you to create “recipes” - simple tasks like “If I posted a Facebook post, you need to tweet it.” Now it works with Google's cloud storage. Actions such as adding a file, creating a document, adding information at the end of a document and a line at the end of a spreadsheet are available.

Ifttt.com already has almost a hundred ready-made recipes for working with Google Drive: automatic archiving of tweets, photos from Facebook, Flickr and Instagram, logging of your network activity in spreadsheets. There are opportunities and more exotic - you can create a table in which the weather outside the window or stock prices will be recorded.

On Habré there is a small overview of the capabilities of IFTTT. Almost a year has passed since its publication, and during this time small changes have occurred. If earlier the actions were triggered with a delay of up to 10-15 minutes, then now there is an opportunity to use “quick triggers”, which trigger immediately. In addition, IFTTT made a move from the Internet to the real world - integration with Belkin WeMo Switch and WeMo Motion devices appeared . This is a wireless switch for the outlet and motion detection. With their help, you can turn on the air conditioner depending on the weather, lighting, if it is already late or the sky is overcast, or, for example, turn on the siren, if the stock price on the stock exchange falls below a certain price. In addition, the design has changed a bit, there are more channels and triggers, the terminology has been simplified - now there are no tasks (tasks) and there are only personal and public recipes.
