Base station 4G LTE on a regular PC

One of the most phenomenal programmers, Fabrice Bellard, continues to create amazing projects on his own. The author LZEXE, Linmodem, QEMU, FFmpeg and the Linux PC emulator on Javascript released a new masterpiece.

LTEENB - LTE Base Station Software : This is a 4G LTE base station software emulator on a regular PC, using available radio equipment. Fabrice says that now LTE base station can technically be used as a regular WiFi hotspot.

The base station supports LTE Release 8 standard with full duplex FDD , in the 1.4 MHz to 20 MHz band, LTE PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC and NAS protocols are implemented.

During testing, a PC under Linux on a Core i7 processor with a frequency of 2.93 GHz successfully coped with data processing in real time.

Radio equipment: USRP N210 with SBX radio transmitter card.

Antenna: Band 7 (2600 MHz FDD), 20 MHz band.

Client equipment: Huawei E398 4G LTE USB modem (based on Qualcomm MDM9200 chipset).

During testing, the client modem recorded a speed of 60 Mbit / s for downloading, 25 Mbit / s for downloading.

A set of tools LTE Tools Fabrice Bellar ready to provide on request to interested companies. For preliminary information, there is documentation on the LTEMOD frequency generator .
