RailsClub'Moscow 2012. Interview with Steve Klabnik

Less than 2 weeks are left until the next RailsClub'Moscow conference. At the 11th meeting of the Rubists, the most representative company of international Ruby stars in the entire history of the conference will arrive.

In anticipation of a personal meeting, we decided to ask them a few questions. Stellar speakers RailsClub'Moscow talked about their plans and shared some personal stories.

We present to your attention a short interview with Steve Klabnik . This is the first interview of the series, which will be published in the near future. Interviews are published with original answers in English and our free translation :)

How do you imagine Moscow?

- I don't know, I've never been there!

- I do not know, never been there!

What would you like to see here?

- The Red Square.

What project / open source are you working on?

- Teaching with Jumpstart, working on Rails 4, and the hypermedia book.

- I am training with Jumpstart, working on Rails 4 and a book about hypermedia.

What do you like to do in your free time from Ruby?

- Working on random open source projects.

- Work on different open source projects.

When and why did you start programming?

- I was 7! I wanted to make them.

- I was 7 years old! Text computer toys were very exciting, and when I started to play them, I wanted to make them myself.

What would you like to become if you didn't become a programmer?
- I've always thought I'd be a lawyer.

What book would you recommend to read to any programmer?
- “Working Effectively with Legacy Code”.

Russia has strong literary traditions. Have you read any of the Russian writers?

- Not particularly. I've been focusing more on literature and economics as of late.

- Actually, no. I am gradually closing the gaps in classical literature, but lately I have been concentrating more on political and economic topics.
