On Thursday, one of the founders of The Pirate Bay, 27, Gottfried Svartholm, was arrested in Cambodia. The reasons for the arrest are related to "crimes in the field of information technology" in Sweden. It is not known whether his extradition, since between countries there is no agreement.
At the initial appeal hearing, which was held in 2010, Svartholm did not appear, presenting a medical certificate stating that he was imprisoned in a Cambodian hospital. Svartholm did not appear to appeal the verdict, so he was put on the international wanted list.
