Despite the rather strange form factor of the Samsung Galaxy Note, many eventually “tasted it,” and sales of “either a smartphone or a tablet” were at a high enough level. But for some reason, the Internet about the release of the next model - Note II - was boiling much less than a few months ago, when everyone was wondering what percentage of ceramics would be in the Galaxy S-III. So, after I turned in my hands a dummy of a new Note, and then I saw it turned on at IFA 2012, I can say that you are so vain. In vain in vain in vain! Note II turned out about 12.53% cooler than its predecessor, and maybe even the beloved S-III in some moments.
The new Note has become slightly thinner (a millimeter, not more), but the main thing is more elegant, so to speak about a smartphone with a display diagonal of 5.55 ”. This happened due to the fact that the aspect ratio of the display has changed. Now the aspect ratio of the screen is 16: 9, which, firstly, saves us from the black bars while watching the video, and secondly, it makes the smartphone a bit narrower, due to which it is more comfortable in the hand.

Display size increased to five and a half inches. Super AMOLED sensor resolution is now 1280 x 720 pixels. Viewing angles, brightness, contrast - all at altitude. The colors are perhaps slightly acidic, but this is a common feature of AMOLED.

The materials chosen are of high quality: metal edging, plus glossy plastic is akin to that used in SGS-III. On the one hand, it’s a pity that the developers have abandoned the textured back cover, and on the other hand, the gadget has become generally less geeky because of this, which will automatically increase sales.
Controls remained in the same place. On the right (as always at Samsung) there is an on / off key, on the left - a volume control, on top - a headphone jack, and below - a micro-USB port for charging and connecting to a computer.
On the back there was a place for a camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels and an LED flash. In front of the screen are located in a row sensors of lighting, proximity and front camera for video calls.
But to be called a laptop, in Samsung terminology, a gadget needs a stylus. In the new model, he has not gone anywhere - still hiding in the lower right corner. Only now it has become oval (really easier to hold), and the method of its attachment in the canister has changed. Now it is not a mechanical clamp that is used, but several magnets that allow you to securely fix the pen in three positions: fully inserted into the niche reserved for it, three quarters and one half.

In Quadrant Standart, thanks to the Exynos quad-core processor with a frequency of 1.6 GHz and two (!!!) gigabytes of memory, it gains about 6000 points, overtaking HTC One X, Asus Transformer Prime and even its Galaxy S-III brother.
And what is the coolest, Galaxy Note 2 does not work on Android 4.0, but on Jelly Bean 4.1, which, firstly, adds some cool features to the system as such, and secondly, it optimizes power consumption.
And, by the way, about energy consumption! The battery here is set at 3100 mAh, which allows us to hope for a day, or even more battery life.
The only question is how much such beauty will cost ...
