I propose to remember in unison that
r13 informed us on July 3 of this year (2012): programmer Thomas Biskup (author of the popular
rogue-like text RPG called “
Ancient Domains of Mystery ” -
abbreviated ADOM ) launched the
Resurrect ADOM development project on Indiegogo website with the proposal to the fans of the game to get a pack of
48 000 dollars to continue its development.
However,
r13 did not consider it necessary to mention one detail, which today turned out to be very important. In the event that the collected money turns out to be noticeably more than the minimum required amount, the author of the ADOM game promised to pay for these funds for the additional development time of the developers and provide many additional functions in the game:
- if they collect 50,000 - to provide support for the graphic mode (with pictures of characters, monsters and objects instead of ASCII symbols), and if they collect 55,000 - to hire an artist to make an official full set of such pictures;
- if they collect 60,000 - add the ability to choose new races (fog elves and ratmen) and new classes (knights of chaos and duelists) while creating the main character;
- if they collect 65,000 - provide support for STEAM or another similar game distribution platform;
- if you collect 70,000 - create a system for tracking achievements (achievements) and online publication of points (highscores);
- if you collect 75,000 - introduce a new extensive quest associated with a volcanic eruption;
- if you collect 80,000 - replenish the game with such a quest in which the player will discover the secrets surrounding the character Rolf (Rolf) that existed in previous versions of the ADOM game;
- if you collect 85,000 - add two more quests to the game in accordance with the suggestions of the community;
- if you collect 90,000 , add three more quests to the game in accordance with community suggestions.
And what? Today (August 31), the crowdfunding has ended - the project has scored $ 90,169, and this is enough to fulfill
all the goals retold above!
Here is a beautiful color infographics of funds raised and goals achieved:

In his blog, Thomas Biskup
is delighted to report that the fees of the project “
Resurrect ADOM development ” were the largest among the projects of computer games on Indiegogo (and indeed the largest among games on Indiegogo, not only computer), but also the largest among all
rogue-like games in general (not only on Indiegogo, but also from other crowdfunding sites).
This is an important, historical milestone, dear readers.
But the main thing is, of course, quests. Wow how many quests!
Looking forward to.
