The free GIMP editor is now a native application for Mac OS X
The popular open source graphics editor GIMP (free and free alternative to Adobe Photoshop) is finally ported to Mac OS X as a native application ! Now you do not need to install X11 with GIMP - just drag Gimp into the / Applications / folder, as all regular Mac applications are installed.
The latest version of GIMP 2.8.2: file 73 MB, after installing 230 MB, at the first start it can crash, at the second everything is OK .
GIMP is a very powerful graphics editor, which largely coincides in functions with Photoshop, but is distributed completely free of charge. The GIMP competition on Mac is trying to be a Pixelmator, but this is a non-free program worth $ 15.
