Virtual worlds are united in a single network.

The developers of the virtual worlds and the largest technology companies met at the Virtual Worlds conference and reached an important agreement that could take the virtual worlds industry to a fundamentally new level of development. They decided to create a single standard for avatars so that people could travel between virtual worlds without re-registering. Moreover, in the future, a single currency and common property will appear in different games.

Well-known IT companies IBM, Cisco, Intel, Microsoft, Motorola, Google and Sony, as well as the companies-developers Linden Lab (Second Life game), Multiverse Network, Mindark and others have agreed on a single standard avatar (a total of 23 companies).

However, the real results of joint work will not appear soon. Now only an agreement has been reached at the management level of firms, but they are clearly moving in the right direction.

By the way, the idea of a common avatar cannot be called new. This concept was patented by Electronic Arts back in 1989.
