Med Sensation Diagnostic Gloves

Self-diagnostics through the touch glove is the goal of Med Sensation developers. They designed gloves that are equipped with sensors that will help identify negative changes in the body, ranging from sports injuries to ulcers, lymphoma and cancer. With the help of this glove even non-specialists will be able to conduct a survey.

Glove sensors

Pressure, temperature, vibration and acoustic sensors are integrated into the glove. There is also an accelerometer and a buzzer, which gives a signal if the sensors encounter changes in the tissues of the body. The next prototype of the device will also have additional sensors - ultrasonic. The data obtained during the inspection are transmitted wirelessly to a computer.

From fiction to reality

Med Sensation is being developed at Singularity University (Silicon Valley), founded in 2009 by futurologists Ray Kurzweil and Peter Diamandis, chairman of the X-Prize Foundation. The model for this diagnostic glove was the tricorder, with which the ship's doctor Leonard McCoy on the Star Treck series successfully scans the next patient.
Interestingly, Med Sensation already has a competitor at the development stage - the Scanadu tricorder, a project led by futurologist Walter de Brauer (NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California) and a small device that will be used in conjunction with a computing device. power and screen of the smartphone.
According to experts, these and other future technologies of the future in the field of medicine will have a significant positive impact on the lives of billions of people.
