Soviet rovers

UPD : on Habré there is an epic work on this topic (thx Sterpa )

I stumbled upon an interesting article about Soviet rovers, the first of which was to crawl around the red planet as early as 1971 - but the connection with the primarised module that the rover was on was lost shortly after landing.
In fact, they were impressed by the steep ideas of movement in alien spaces - especially the “caterpillar principle” with the gradual pulling up of parts of the apparatus.
Here are a couple of videos - the first part (the first half) is still about moon rovers (the rover is at 3:39), and the second is about another (no less interesting) rover, able to climb the sandy slopes and pass rocky areas. Enjoy:
