I am against its closure. I think this step is very strange, because last year the chat in the mail has been continuously improved, and, for example, in Gmail, such a chat has existed since time immemorial and is not going to close.

I suggest using lifehack and arranging a flash mob - enable chat in Ya.Pochte and get +10 gigs to Ya.Disk.

In September, the Chat will disappear from the Mail web interface. You can continue chatting with friends by setting up a chat in instant messaging programs. And the history of correspondence will always be available to you on the page: mail.yandex.ru/neo2/#contacts/chats .

Why it happened. We are constantly developing the Post Office, inventing and adding new features. Many of them are becoming popular, but there are also projects with which we do not guess. Unfortunately, most people did not use chat in the web interface. We refuse to support “non-departed” projects in order to concentrate forces on the development of more popular ones - the mobile application, Mail for the domain, Yandex.Disk and others.

We understand that our solution may cause you some inconvenience. And as compensation, we offer an additional 10 GB of free space to store your files on Yandex.Disk. To get them, just start using Yandex.Disk. And if you already have it, then gigabytes will appear on it automatically.
