FOM: 24.3 million Russians use the Internet
The Public Opinion Foundation published the fifteenth issue of the Internet in Russia regular newsletter : Spring 2006 .
According to researchers, over the three spring months the number of Internet users in Russia increased by 500 thousand people and amounted to 24.3 million (21% of the population). Moscow leads in the number of users (4.4 million; 4.2 million in the Central region excluding Moscow). This is followed by the Volga (4.1 million), Southern (3.1 million), North-Western (3 million), Siberian (2.9 million), Ural (1.5 million) and Far Eastern (1.1 million) regions .
