Belarusians made a drone running Linux

Minsk Aircraft Repair Plant began assembling Sterkh-BM unmanned aerial vehicles under the Linux operating system. While several experimental specimens have been collected, in 2013 it is planned to launch mass production of up to 10 aircraft per year, the plant director said .

The aviation complex was developed by Belarusian engineers, it includes a control center, a maintenance station and the Sterkh-BM unmanned aerial vehicle itself. The device operates under the control of the operator (through the SSH tunnel) or in autopilot mode, in both cases the operating system Open System UAV is used based on Linux.
