We have small PBXs in different villages with equipment for accessing the Internet. As a rule, they are located in rented premises of village administrations. The whole installation of equipment is always trying to do according to the mind, lightning protection is always done. But practice shows that with a good thunderstorm with an abundance of lightning, protection does not help.
Under the cut there is a little photo of what happened in the PBX room, after a lightning hit the roof of the building and the cable of the air passage over the ravine (it could be a bit more fucking, but that was enough).
Let's just say Friday post.
Especially I will not write just to say that the PBX burned out completely, a lot of cable buried in the ground went under the replacement, DSLAM failed, a lot of arresters, 3 PBX rectifiers, a fire alarm system.
Then just a photo with some explanations.

SL (connecting line KSPP):

It was a discharger on the SL, all that was found from him:

19 "U closet, one of the nuts of which the equipment was bolted. All equipment has been grounded:

This is one of the wires from the "perimeter" of the ground:

Block WB (rectifiers):

Fire alarm system:

Its switch, or rather what remains of it:

Cross with dischargers (in the photo, dischargers are either scattered or already taken by us to assess what happened):

A handful of badly stinking dischargers:

The remains of PBX:

PS The PBX and the Internet were restored during the working day, and the replacement of cables took most of the recovery time.
