Firefox OS launched on Raspberry Pi

New operating system from Firefox, Firefox OS, launched on the mini-computer Raspberry Pi. The goal of the project to launch this system on a mini-PC is to demonstrate undemanding resources from the operating system. In general, now many software innovations are so resource-intensive that you need a powerful enough PC for normal operation of such applications. And the new OS is quite capable of working on a PC with minimal characteristics of the Raspberry Pi. The configuration of this PC has been repeatedly described on Habré, so it’s not worth repeating.

As far as can be seen, the system works really well. By the way, when demonstrating some applications and opening files, the system hardly slowed down, everything went just fine. Of course, not perfect, but quite bearable. Those who haven’t seen what Firefox OS looks like are worth a look, though, the OS itself “glows” not for long.
