Since Apple released the first iPhone, the network does not stop trying to predict what the next device will look like with the apple on the back.
But every time all these predictions are far from the truth. The fact is that the guys who paint the supposed design of the future iPhone think as all other companies would think, except Apple itself.
')
As practice has shown, Apple has never changed the size of the iPhone screen. Screens differing by half an inch - this is the lot of devices on the Android OS. And look at what kind of fragmentation this led to.
I decided to insert my “five kopecks” and present my vision of the future of the iPhone. I was repelled by the history of the development of the iPhone and iPad devices.
The fact is that the iPhone 4 and The New iPad (iPad 3) purchased Retina displays, which, with the same physical size, have exactly twice as many pixels on each axis in comparison with previous devices. But when developing applications for iOS - it did not double the complexity of development. The iPhone screen remained 320 by 480, but now not pixels, but points (points).
Illumination came to me: what if the iPad screen with the Retina display is halved? After all, the resolution he will then be just like the iPad / iPad 2, that is, 1024x768! Get iPad mini. And then I thought: the side margins can also be removed like on the iPhone.
Took and visualized this device. In my opinion, it turned out very Apple-style.
In this size, by the way, the device is free to fit into the inner pocket of the jacket.
But what to do with the applications for this device?
I think that the concept of “iPad mini compatible” could be introduced for iPhone and iPad applications. This would mean that the iPhone application is ready to stretch to 1024x768 using Auto Layout (which is already included in the iOS 6 SDK).
As for iPad apps, they could shrink to look better on a small screen. But then I would have to modify the behavior of the standard interface elements. I adopted a wonderful screen shift effect in both Path and Facebook applications.
Below is the standard Split Screen View, which is “split” into two parts. By clicking on the darkened - you activate it and can work with it, but at this time the other part is shifted to the side and darkened.
Unfortunately, I cannot put forward such evidence as
others did in favor of my prediction. In the end, only Apple decides what the future iPhone will be.
