Google Play tightens requirements for published applications. All published Android applications will be re-checked and in case of discrepancies with the new rules will be deleted.

Today we received a notification about updating requirements:

-

As of July 31, 2012, the new Google Play Developer Program Policy (“Content Policy”) will be in effect for all new applications submitted to the service. Any pre-existing applications must achieve compliance or be voluntarily unpublished by the developer within 30 days of the issuance of this notification.

-

Requirements are available at http://play.google.com/about/developer-content-policy.html .
')

-

Requirements can be divided into three categories:

Content

Pornography and any insults on religious or national grounds are forbidden (for example, publishing a toy in support of PussyRiot is no longer possible). Customers are also banned to online casinos.

Work with the network and external sites

Spam applications are prohibited, applications that offer incentives for raising ratings on Google Play are prohibited.

Payment

Any payment and in-app purchases should only go through Google services (only in-game purchases are meant, this does not apply to a vacuum cleaner store, say).

The user should be able to clearly distinguish advertising banners from the application itself.

-

Apparently, Google began to struggle with third-party payment services in Android. Let's hope that such measures will improve the quality of applications in the store.
