Verizon will stop blocking tethering applications.

In May of this year, most US carriers began to block third-party tethering applications, preventing users from downloading such applications from the Android Market. In addition, even the built-in tethering function was blocked on most mobile devices. For the time being, telecom operators acted in a similar manner unchecked. But the other day, FFC, the US Federal Communications Commission ruled that Verizon, blocking tethering, violates some of the clauses of state law.

Representatives of the FCC said that Verizon violations are expressed in limiting the actions of their customers who can not download the application of their choice. The officials decided to stop blocking the tethering by Verizon. True, free users will not get this happiness, will have to pay $ 20 a month. All this applies to wireless 4G LTE, part of the spectrum C Block.

In addition to this ruling, the state forced Verizon to pay $ 1.25 million. As a result, the trial on this issue was terminated, and happy users of mobile devices got tethering back. Of course, you will have to pay, but still $ 20 is not such a large amount, especially if it is impossible to do without this function.

Verizon workers will even be forced to undergo training to study the rules of working in the C Block spectrum. In addition, this carrier will be closely monitored for about two years, in order to avoid new violations.
