Despite the hot summer, work on 2GIS does not stop: the latest updates are designed to make working with 2GIS Online and the API even more convenient.

Nowadays, the search box is almost unthinkable without prompts. As they say, “must have”. But we (until today) it was not. As a result, for example, users wrote “Raiffeisen” in 37 different ways, and the word “Agency” was written by the majority of users with an error - “Agency”.
In 2GIS, you can search not only for organizations, but also places — streets, squares, buildings, as well as transport — routes and stops. Therefore, prompts in the online version of 2GIS represent three types of results: the most popular user queries, search results for places and transport. The fact is that for each 2GIS city our API collects statistics on requests, then requests are processed - the most popular ones are highlighted, and similar ones are combined. Thus, in API 2GIS, the data for prompts are targeted to the maximum for the interests of users in different cities.
The goal of all this work is to give users the ability to find what they need faster. If you don’t know exactly how to spell the name of the district “Khoroshevo-Mnevniki” in Moscow or the street “Sakko and Vantsetti” in Novosibirsk, and finding these places is very necessary - our hint will help to do it quickly.
Another important update of our online maps is the “Transport” tab for finding routes and stops moved. It is no longer a separate entity with its own search string, but a tab in the search results. Now if by the search query both organizations, places and transport objects were found, the user will see three tabs.
