Today, Cognitive Technologies announced an investment of $ 7.3 million in the development of software for the recognition of printed and handwritten texts.
Cognitive Technologies is one of the leaders of the Russian software market; in their opinion, the project will be able to earn more than $ 1.8 million only in the first year after launch.
')
Investments are not so big by today's standards, and for Cognitive Technologies these are 7.3 million dollars, only some 7.3 million dollars. However, we really want them to have a significant impact on the development of this segment as a whole.
Compressimo - a program for scanning, compressing and sending documents by e-mail.
The development of this program was made possible by new algorithms for image analysis and processing.
3 years ago, experts at Cognitive Technologies voiced the idea, which was based on the possibility of defining its structural components in the document: text, picture, graph, markers, comments. For each such element, you can apply the layout algorithm, thanks to which it makes the element compact without losing information.
This approach allows to reduce the amount of digitized documents on average up to 20 times.
Abilities of the program:
- scan and recognize texts with handwritten notes, stamps and symbols;
- automatically recognize the type and structure of the document;
- automatically select the most suitable processing mode;
- recognize text in 23 languages using the CuneiForm OCR system (OpenOCR) built-in and modified core;
- instantly interact with Microsoft Outlook.
Compressimo is based on the key technology Cognitive PDF / A, presented by Cognitive Technologies in April 2011.
In addition to Compressimo, Cognitive Technologies has invested in the E1 Euphrates IB project (RUB 1 billion), an information security module for a robotic business process management system. The capabilities of E1 Euphrates make it possible to ensure the construction of a protected document flow, including the flow of documents in government bodies belonging to the “power” block.
