Intel has launched a clone of Digg for software and web development

An interesting web project was launched by Intel: it is a CoolSW service, which stands for “cool software”. The site is intended for developers and entrepreneurs who share links to new programs and web projects in five thematic categories, as well as vote for the best business ideas, forming the first page with a news and commentary ribbon. The system works in the same way as Digg, only the main and only topic here is software.

For each CoolSW user, the karma is calculated, and the list of top-rated users is displayed on the first page.

According to the developers, the project is designed to help Intel track interesting business ideas and find promising start-ups for purchase at an early stage of their development. Creating a project took about a year (at first it was conceived as a resource solely for internal use) and cost $ 40,000. During internal testing, one of the most active users was Intel employee Maxim Ivanushkin , who is now in second place in the number of published messages (85) . Perhaps Maxim is among the project developers.
