Facebook offered advertisements in search results



Facebook has been monetizing for quite some time. The income, basically, is brought by service of advertisements, and the company is going to modernize this service. It is planned to add a new format of contextual advertisements that will be displayed in search results. In this case, ads will be displayed only when the user types in a search query. In the search results after the introduction of the query ads will not appear.

Such ads will be paid by advertisers in order to receive a pop-up “hint” that will lead to the advertiser's page on the social network itself. Links to external resources are not supported, so working with a new type of advertisements is possible only within the social network. In addition, search queries like “cars”, “watches” and so on cannot be used in this advertising system. You can work only with proper names, names of applications and companies that are on Facebook.

It is worth noting that third-party advertisers do not need to contact the brands that own such names and names. However, it is not yet known what will happen next - it may well be that someone will start complaining, and advertisers will need to get permission from the rights holders for advertising linked to a specific name or title. In the meantime, you can advertise "Microsoft Office", tying the advertisement to your own page.

As usual, the standard Facebook targeting will be used in this system.
