Large corporations continue to buy "on the vine" projects that seem to the management of corporations either useful, or promising, or competing. Now Oracle has decided to acquire the company Skire, long and successfully engaged in the creation of software for project management. Actually, the main direction of Skire work is products for corporate users.
Unfortunately, the amount that satisfied the Skire management is not called. But it is clear that Oracle had to pay a lot of money for such a company. Now the deal is in full swing, and it will be completed (if nothing prevents the transaction) by the end of this year. In general, for Oracle it is quite an interesting acquisition, which allows you to more firmly occupy niche areas of work.
So, Skire systems are used in companies that work for energy, medical and educational purposes. Skire's clients include quite a few well-known companies, including DTE Energy, ConocoPhillips, and some others. Experts believe that the assets of the purchased company will be used in Oracle Primavera PPM (project portfolio management).

It is worth noting that Oracle has already bought companies this year more than once or twice. For the corporation, this transaction is already the fifth. Oracle's latest purchase was Collective Intellect.
