Roskomnadzor demanded that Livejournal and YouTube delete personal data of Russians
Roskomnadzor demanded that the administration of several foreign sites remove the personal data of Russians. The list , published on the official website of the ministry, includes such well-known resources like Livejournal and YouTube. In case of non-deletion, domain registrars will require the termination of their delegation.
In addition, the agency appealed to the Russian Foreign Ministry with a request for assistance in stopping the illegal publication of personal data of Russians.
Despite the fact that there are no uniform international rules for the protection of personal data, this year Roskomnadzor applied with a similar requirement to 42 foreign companies and individuals who administer websites, 15 of which voluntarily deleted personal data of Russians. The domains of sites whose administrators refused to delete illegal information were divided at the request of the department. A list of these domains can also be found on the service website. ')
